YURI USHAKOV - HEAD COACH
Born in Upstate, New York playing for the Clifton Park Dynamo AAA. Yuri went on to get drafted by the Syracuse Stars (NCDC), Peterborough Pete’s (OHL), tender Odessa Jackalopes (NAHL). Where he would then continue on to play his junior hockey years.
Yuri has now made the transition from playing hockey to coaching as an Head Coach for the Park City Ice Miners, and Associate Coach for the Ice Miners Varsity White team.
“Hockey has been my life since i took my first stride 19 years ago. Along with playing, I quickly gained a passion for coaching as well. Starting in 2019 I began doing my first private lessons while still playing, and did my first camp in 2022.”
”As my passion for the game grew, I dedicated myself to hockey, finding myself training year round. I discovered that I improved and learned the most in an individual or small group setting where I could get the repetition and attention on the areas needing improvement. This is the foundation of Ushakov Hockey. We believe that athletes develop and thrive in a small group setting, surrounded by passionate coaches.”
”I strongly believe in collaboration over competition between coaches. Players working with multiple coaches can expand their skillset and each coach teaches differently and can teach the player to have an open mind and become a coachable player.”

You get a session that’s completely tailored to your needs. we don’t specialize in one particular skill or component, we touch on all parts of the game, creating unique drills to help players work on what they need most.
Our Spring/Summer camps focus on creating a fun, inclusive environment so they can develop both as players but most important as people. Similar to our other programs, our spring/summer camps have limited spots to keep reps and attention high, allowing for an effective learning environment.
